Gus, Interesting new post. I really enjoyed looking at the portion about how technology has changed the way we design according to needs in a building. I too was thinking about the objects that need to go in each room such as the phone. I originally thought, oh who needs that, we all have our cells. But then I remembered that not everyone did have one. So there should at least be access to phones in the student rooms so they can have contact with their families. I think you have brought up an excellent topic for conversation. Due to technology we are able to reduce our building square footage based on the decrease of appliances/rooms, etc. I was also wondering what your thoughts were on the three red words that you have assigned to each category (serenity, awareness, dialog).
I suppose I missed the flight to Boston with you? HA
Things are looking good. I appreciate your work to write down important experiences and values to you before you described the space. This is important to all projects and can never be started too soon! The relationships and organization of how spaces interact are well thought. I had a similar division of organization. This will allow for different levels of security and access also.
